By 35 the grays blended well enough that I felt it was time for freedom and let it all grow out. Around 33 or 34 I eventually started with high and lowlights to blend the growth so I didn't have a straight line of roots and it was much easier to maintain. It was so stressful to spend tons of money at the salon hiding grays and still hate the outcome and I got to the point of needing to go every 4-5 weeks b/c my roots were so bad. I felt like the color never turned out as I wanted and always turned brassy and bleh. I spent many years and lots of money dyeing it and I hated it b/c I'm just not that high maintenance. I'm 38 and started getting grays in my early 20s. So, here's my question my fellow brunettes: have you ever tried hiding your grey with some light highlights? How did it work out for you? More in general, how do you cope with your grey hair? At the same time, they're not so many to go for a dye, which can become quite a commitment I'm not willing to make. I love the going grey photos on Instagram but I don't see myself so confident to show off that look just yet. Anyhow, as much as I want to embrace my natural grey, I don't feel ready for it and I like to change. It's been almost a year since I stopped using henna and my grey hair are very much visible, especially on my forehead where a bunch of them has created an alliance taking over my brown hair. I've used henna in the past years but my hair contain a lot of red already (I have natural reddish highlights) so the result was a orange hue that wouldn't go away (not even indigo worked) and I've grown tired of it. I'm a brunette and in the past year my grey have multiplied at an incredible speed. Yes, this is another post about going grey. Do not try to play Rules Lawyer with the moderation team.
